V. South American Conference on Migration

The South American Conference on Migration (CSM) is a regional consultative process started up by the region’s countries in 2000. It is an intergovernmental space in which ideas are debated and good practices are shared with a view to achieving a regional migration policy. The CSM is held annually, with the participation of twelve countries in the region (Argentina, the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela), together with international organizations and civil society representatives.

The CSM platform includes all the Conferences held so far. Therein, you can find an approach to the rights of migrants and returnees resuming their citizen participation, and accessing the different social, economic and cultural areas of the host society, within an inter-cultural framework.
